Do not clean AirPods with sharp or abrasive objects.

Do not use toxic cleaners on the mesh area of ​​the speaker. It is good to use them carefully on the surface.

Do not insert anything into the charging port, as this may damage the metal charging contacts.


Cleaning supplies: You’ll need a dry swab, a soft cloth, a lint-free cloth (such as a microfiber cloth), and a bottle of 70% isopropyl alcohol (aka rubbing alcohol), available at any drug store.

How you clean AirPods:

  • Use a soft cotton swab to clean the mesh of the speaker and microphone.
  • Some books say that you use a special tool, like a pin or a stylus, but Apple advises against this. Whether you choose a swab or a tool, gently remove earwax from the edge of the compound.
  • Do not hit the speaker with a tool. It will be a mess.
    Use the cloth to gently remove dirt and grime from other AirPods.
  • If you used something that could stain or damage the AirPods (such as shampoos, perfumes, detergents or acidic foods), you should move on.
  • Wet a clean cloth thoroughly with water and gently clean the affected areas.

    Do not use AirPods or put them on the charger until they are completely dry.
  • The AirPods Pro also have a silicone design that covers the earcups, which also need to be cleaned.

  • Do not use any type of bleach or detergent.
  • Wipe them dry, and put them back in only when they are completely dry.

How to clean the AirPods case:


Using a dry cloth, gently clean the charging case. If it really needs an extra touch, add a little isopropyl alcohol to the cloth and clean. Or use a disinfectant.

Do not put liquid in the charging port.

Do not put the AirPods in the case until they are completely dry.
If the power connector has any kind of debris, use a soft brush, such as an old toothbrush, that is clean and dry to gently clean it.
