How to view and Delete Google History
Your web browsing history is a snapshot of your inner world, your motivations, and your actions. But like this, you may not want your Google digital newsletter to be hit with content and anyone looking over your shoulder at the wrong time. This article is about how to view and delete Google History in different browsers. You can manage this sensitive history regardless of the browser you use, from Chrome to Firefox and Apple’s Safari, but all methods are different.
And keep in mind that if you have multiple devices – and more than one browser on each device – you can modify some of these steps so that your content doesn’t know that you, for example, need a link hands.
How to view and Delete Google History in different browsers
Here’s how to view and delete your stories in different browsers. We’ll start with Chrome, made by Google. Google is now such a powerful and powerful search engine that the company’s products, such as its Chrome browser, save your past searches by synchronizing them between your different devices (laptop, tablet, smartphone).
However, once you delete your history on one device, it will delete it on all devices. These steps will also remove searches made using other search engines.
In Google Chrome:
Click or tap the menu icon with three dots in the upper right corner of the browser window.- Click or tap History > History (CTRL + H).
On the left side, scroll to Clear browsing data. A box will appear asking you how much history you want to delete. - If you want to clear your history completely, check the box for cookies and other site data and saved images and files.
- Then click Clear Data. This will delete your previous searches. You can also prevent Chrome from automatically completing searches in the future.
- In Settings (also accessible by clicking the three dots at the top right of your browser),
- click on Integration with Google Services,
- then scroll to Other Google Services. Under Other Google Services,
- find Search and Full URL and turn it off (on the left).
If you want to clear your mobile history, tap the three dots and finish History.
Click Define Browsing Data, then click Define Data.
For Firefox:
- Click or tap the menu icon with three lines in the upper right corner of the browser windows.
- Click the Library icon in the drop-down menu.
- Click the History icon that appears on the Library tab of the drop-down menu.
- Click next to view history.
- You will see options from “Today” to “Over 6 months”.
- Right-click on the desired option and
- click Delete.
- For mobile, tap the three-bar menu icon at the top right of the browser, then tap Settings.
- Click Search, scroll down, and uncheck Show search history.
For Safari:
For Safari (desktop):
Click the Safari menu, then click the History tab.
Click Clear history and website data.
From the drop-down menu,
select the period you want to delete (maybe all history.)
Click Clear History.
For Safari (mobile):
Go to the settings icon on the home screen.
Navigate to Safari.
Click Clear history and website data.
Keep in mind that this process deletes all your browsing data, including browsing cookies. To remove search functionality from Google Maps, YouTube, and other Google products:
On your computer:
- Go to your Google account (https://myaccount.google.com/)
Scroll to the left side and - click Privacy & Settings.
Under ‘Jobs & Schedule’, - click My Jobs.
- In the left panel,
- click Delete task from.
Select the date or time you want to delete and click Delete.
On your Android phone/tablet:
- Open your device’s Settings app with Google or tap the Google icon on your phone’s home screen.
- Click Google Account or Manage Your Account (depending on how you signed in to the account)
- Click on Manage data and personal settings
- Under Tasks & Time, click My Tasks
- To the right of the search bar,
- click the three dots and
- select Delete programs from
- Select the date or time you want to delete and click Delete.
On your iPhone/iPad:
- Open the Gmail app.
- If you don’t use Gmail, go to https://myaccount.google.com/) Click Menu (three bars),
- then Settings, then your account,
- Click Manage your Google account At the top, click Data and configuration
Under ‘Jobs & Schedule’, - click My Jobs
- At the top right of the page, click the three dots and
- select Delete programs from
Select the date or time you want to delete and - click Delete.
Now that’s interesting
Signing into any Google service, such as Gmail, also automatically signs you into Chrome and provides your search history. This can be a problem, especially with connected devices. Use the following steps to prevent Chrome from logging in automatically.
