how to take full or partial screenshot on windows in 2 ways

This article is about how to take full or partial screenshot on windows. Sometimes it is very useful to be able to copy photos or images of your Windows computer. You can do this using the Snipping tool or PrintScreen. Although the Snipping Tool creates separate files and makes it easy to save, you need to open the tool first. Alternatively, you can quickly copy the entire screen by clicking the PrintScreen button.

You can mirror your screen in Windows – taking a screenshot – in two different ways.

To capture your entire screen in Windows, you can use the PrintScreen button on your keyboard to quickly take a screenshot.

To copy a part of your screen in Windows, you can use the Snipping Tool and save the image file easily.

The downside of using PrintScreen is that it only saves the image to your clipboard, which you have to force if you want to view it and save it.

How to record the screen in Windows using PrintScreen

PrintScreen is a button on your keyboard, and can be named one of the following: “PrtSc“, “PrtScn“, or “PrntScrn“.

To print only the currently active window, press Alt + PrintScreen.

To copy the entire screen, click PrintScreen.

To edit and save your copy, open an Office program or any program that will allow you to paste images. In this case, I chose to open a new email in Outlook. Paste the image by right-clicking and selecting paste, or simply pressing Ctrl-V on your keyboard.

Now you can edit the image or just right click it to save.

How to Snip Part of Your Screen in Windows Using the Snip Tool

  1. Click on your start menu.

2. Scroll down and click Snipping Tool.

3. This will bring up the Snipping Tool popup window and apply a wispy filter across the entire screen. You will also see a plus sign representing your mouse cursor.

  1. Place it in the upper left corner of anything you want to cut and copy.
  2. Holding the mouse, drag a rectangle that appears to cut off the wispy filter. This will be what you copy.
  3. When you release, the part you cut will appear in a new image popup window.
  4. Click “File” at the top of the snipping tool pop-up window and scroll down to “Save As” if you want to save it.
