To turn off notifications when your AirPods are locked, but keep them on when connected to CarPlay, turn off the main power switch.
To prevent Siri from reading text messages, scroll to the message option, tap it and turn off the notification switch.
Whichever option you choose, Siri won’t read messages from your AirPods.
