How to find your Android using Find My Device

How to find your Android using Find My Device feature from google

In this article, we are going to tell you How to find your Android using Find My Device feature. Google Find My Device does the same thing for Android and iPhone phones. Here’s how to use it to find your misplaced or lost Android device.

You can find a lost Android device using Google’s Find My Device service through its app or browser.

With the Find My Device app or website, you can see the phone’s location on a map, play a sound to find it, or factory reset the phone directly.

Losing your phone can be a disaster, which is why Apple and Google offer similar tools to track, locate, and even erase lost phones.

How to find your Android using Find My Device

You can find your Android device using the Find My Device website or through Google’s Find My Device application (installed in the Google Play store) on another Android device logged into the same Google account.

A word of warning: if you log into your Google account on a public computer or someone else’s PC to find your phone, remember to use a private browser or incognito mode and exit when you’re done.

1. Launch the app or go to Google Find My Device in a web browser.

2. If you have a device, Find My Device should focus directly on the device (or the last known location when it was turned on and connected to the Internet). If you have more than one device, you can select the one you are looking for using the device icon at the top of the page.

  1. In addition to seeing the phone on the map, you have three options:

Select “Speak Sound” to command the phone to play a ringtone. If the phone is on and connected to the internet, it will play a sound regardless of the phone’s sound settings.

Select “Secure Device” to prevent someone from accessing your phone data. You can also display a message or phone number on the lock screen to help you recover the device.

Select “Erase Device” if the phone is lost or stolen and you don’t expect to get it back. This will wipe the phone and reset it to factory settings.

How to enable “Find My Device” on Android

Even if you don’t remember to activate the Google Find My Device service, the good news is that it must be working.

Google enables it by default when you connect your Android phone to a Google account. You set up your phone first. If you have access to your phone, here’s how to check that it’s enabled:

  1. Start the Settings app.
  2. Click on “Google“.
  3. On the Google settings page, tap “Security“.
  4. Click “Find My Device“.
  5. On the Find My Device page, make sure that the function is enabled – the switch should be turned to the right.
