Can view my product key in Office?

Question: Can see my product key in Office?

Answer: No you can’t.

For security reasons, the product key is not displayed in Office.

Instead, for Office 365, Office 2019, and Office 2016, you can check the Microsoft account that Office has.

This account replaces your product key and can be used to re-install Office through a Microsoft account, Services & Subscriptions and to activate Office.

To view the Microsoft account that Office has, open any Office application and go to File > Accounts.

Search for the email address below the product name.

  1. Go to www.microsoftstore.com. In the upper right corner, select Sign in and enter the user ID and password you use to purchase Office.

2. Once logged in, select your name in the upper right corner, then select Order History.

  1. Find the One-Time Store or Office app, and select Install Office to check your product key (this doesn’t actually install Office).
