how to disinfect a kitchen sponge

Have you ever thought about how to disinfect a kitchen sponge. If you’ve watched a morning news show or read a women’s magazine in the last 10 years or so, you probably know that kitchen sponges are among the most common germs in your home.

It’s very bad if you think about it: we use them to clean disgusting things and different foods, and leave them at room temperature, good and ooh, n’ the night

We also use them to wash our dishes again.

Most of us clean our kitchen sponges by washing them in hot soapy water or putting them in the dishwasher, but can you clean a kitchen sponge?

In a soft way (since it would not be practical or environmentally friendly to throw them away after only one use), the answer is yes you can clean them, but you probably already have something the most effective cleaning in your kitchen.

One way to get rid of a kitchen sponge is to put it in the microwave – but make sure you do this safely and not in the microwave with a metal plate!

Although most germs can only survive for about 30 seconds in the microwave, you’ll need to atomize your kitchen sink for two minutes with enough power to kill E. coli.

Before pressing “start”, make sure to fill your sponge with water, because a dry sponge can catch fire.

Be careful of the jet of steam when you open the microwave door and let the pan cool before removing it – it will be very hot! You can easily pick it up.

If you would prefer not to face the risk of steam or fire, you can soak your stage for five minutes in a solution of 3/4 cup bleach and 1 gallon of water.

(Bonus: If you mix bleach in your kitchen sink, you can clean and wash your sink at the same time.)

For a friendly way to kill most bacteria, soak the sponges for at least five minutes in pure white wine, then let them dry (in the sun, if possible).

If you decide to use the microwave, you can use a little alcohol to freshen the sponge before you prepare it so you don’t come home smelling like a hot sponge.

Just add tablespoons of vinegar to a cup of water, soak your sponge, and follow the instructions above.
