How to create a folder on a Mac

Method 1

Go to your Mac desktop.

The word ‘Finder‘ will appear on the left side of the screen next to the apple icon once you get there – if it says anything else, like ‘Safari‘ or ‘Words‘, you are still in the program , so click on an empty space on your desktop.

2. Click on the word “File” next to “Finder“.

There you go, a new folder created.

Go to your Mac desktop.

How to edit and add files and folders on Mac

Once your new folder is created, it will be named “untitled folder”.

To rename it, you can double-click its name, or right-click on the folder and select “Rename“.

To move files into the folder, simply drag them to it by clicking on the file in question and dragging it to the folder.

Don’t forget that you can use the same steps to create a new folder inside the folder.
